Create custom maps with SimplyMap

Belk’s new database SimplyMap allows you to create thematic maps and custom datasets for multiple uses:  for class or conference presentations, for your website, for posters, and many other uses.

SimplyMap’s variables include demographics data, historical and current census data, business and marketing variables, and data from Mediamark Research’s Survey of the American Consumer.

Artstor Images for Academic Publishing

ARTstor logoIn 2007, ARTstor and The Metropolitan Museum of Art began a new collaborative service, Images for Academic Publishing (IAP) that allows scholars to download and use, free of charge, high-resolution digital images for academic publications. This release adds 1,700 more images to IAP which now offers over 3,300 images representative of the renowned Metropolitan Museum’s encyclopedic collection.

New functionality added to ScienceDirect

New JSTOR interface

On April 4, 2008, JSTOR unveiled a new interface and several new features, including MyJSTOR to manage citations and a basic search on the JSTOR home page.

Naxos Music Library now available

Listen to music online using the Naxos Music Library. The Naxos database contains classical, jazz, world, folk and Chinese music, as well as notes on the musical works and biographical information on composers and artists.
