Session and Poster Proposals

We invite you to submit a proposal for Elon University’s 5th Annual Innovation in Instruction Conference, which examines college/university teaching and learning. This year’s theme is Exploring the Role of Higher Education in the 21st Century.

PROPOSALS ARE DUE BY APRIL 30TH, 5 PM.

We welcome proposals for Interactive Sessions (75 minutes) and Poster / Demonstration Sessions. You may appear as first author on one proposal; you may appear as a secondary presenter on more than one session.

Proposed Interactive Session

    Your submission for an INTERACTIVE (75 MINUTE) SESSION must include:
    • Name and contact information of the primary presenter/author
    • A firm list of any co-authors or co-presenters
    • A title for your session – 10 words or fewer, please
    • An indication of the single track for which you wish your submission to be considered.
    • An abstract of no more than 100 words, suitable for use in the conference program
    • A proposal narrative of no more than 500 words that describes:

      • background and context of your session
      • goals/objectives for your session
      • outline how the session will be conducted (e.g., discussion, four 10-min presentations followed by Q&A)
      • connection(s) between your session and the conference theme and the specified track of interest
      • any other information that will help the program committee understand your proposed session

Poster / Exhibit

Posters will be displayed throughout the day, and presenters are expected to be in attendance for 30 minutes before lunch and 30 minutes following lunch, when informal poster sessions will be held. During this time, presenters will be able to speak one-to-one with interested conference attendees.

    Your submission for a POSTER SESSION / EXHIBIT must include:
    • Name and contact information of the primary author
    • A firm list of any co-authors or co-presenters
    • A title for your poster/demonstration – 10 words or fewer, please
    • An abstract of no more than 100 words, suitable for use in the conference program
    • A proposal narrative of no more than 500 words that describes:

      • background and context of your best practice
      • any research or evidence that supports your best practice
      • any other information that will help the program committee understand your proposed poster
      • equipment you plan to bring for your poster or demonstration
           
     

    Note: Posters will be displayed on easels or 6-foot tables - please indicate preference below.
